Greeting From the President of KoSEA

The Korean Society for Education through Art, KoSEA, is the Korean branch of the International Society for Education through Art, InSEA, which Herbert Read founded in 1954 in which more than 70 countries worldwide participate. The worldwide international art education network has playing a leading role in art education fields nationally and internationally through international activities and conferences.

In contemporary art, visual culture, which takes advantage of cutting-edge media, is rapidly undergoing major changes. Moreover, we live in a suitable age to study these changes from an educational perspective in this field. In our society of rapidly changing technology and given our material civilization and the directions of the new generation, art education must be reestablished anew with new contents and methods.

The field of art education seeks cross-disciplinary research with other areas and research on social roles which heal social problems; thus, study of the dark side of society will be an essential means of exploring the vision and direction of current Korean art education.

KoSEA is the venue of academic exchange and sharing with various scholars and researchers who research study and practice in the fields of education, creating cutting-edge directions in the art education world. Along with hosting the ongoing international conferences, KoSEA expands its international academic exchange so that it can contribute to the development of national art education.

We wish the Korean Society for Education through Art continued success and tremendous achievements in the years ahead.
